Recent statistics show that there are now 8 billion people on Earth! That could be good or bad. Here is why.

Some countries appreciate having more children, and sometimes even giving allowences to families who have more children. This can boost their economy and GDP. For example, if a mother have four children, the government will give this family 250 dollars, and this will promote more mothers having more children. However, this would lead us to the next issue.

Having too many people on Earth will use up a lot of resources. This will mean more deforestaion, more natural disasters, and more environmental issues in general. For example, before in China, the one child policy encourged mothers only have one child. This means if you want to have another child that has a Chinese passport, you will either need to pay, or go to another country to give birth to that child. This discourages mother to have a second child, which is a good thing because when every mother in China does that, there will be less resources used up, less natural disasters, and just a better world in general.
