Regretting

Our topic today will start with something that is closely relevant to this website and this blog, but we will expand on my experiences on regret later on.

If some of you read the “About” section of this website, you guys probably know that this website was originally aimed to be a nonprofit organization that will make efforts to alleviate climate change, and I spent days and days setting it up and unfortunately, it is completely lost now, as everything has been changed into this website. The home page used to have these photos and this moving background that showed different climates with cool fonts, and this website even used to have a page of “Groups” where people are being put into small teams to discuss about certain issues. If you scroll downwards, you will also find that I have wrote quite a few articles on climate change already before this website changed, so right now, I am basically regretting directly changing the OG Eco Up website into Teenaged Thoughts and not just making a new website and preserving the old one.

This regret comes with the recollection of constant effort, and the fact that the efforts cannot be seen and recorded by the world is what is leading to my regret. However, on the bright side, not everything is lost—the articles are still here and I can still remember what the previous website was like and tell you guys about it. So, even if we feel that start to regret something, it is simply our recollection of constant effort put into something and the reality of nothing showing up in the end and nothing being recorded and preserved.

Our journeys are long—so, looking back is essential. However, reflecting on those moments and always opening ourselves up to new opportunities those regrets has offered us is the only way for us to move forward and be a better self.
