Is Death is as Scary as We Think?

Recently, my grandpa passed away and my family and I went back to my grandpa’s hometown to attend the funeral. His death really was so thought-provoking. The relatives seemed to take this so lightly, and I am not hesitant to say that I also took it lightly. The main reason being is because I do not even remember the last time I talked to him.
He lives in Sichuan province, but my family and I have never lived there in the long-term. We have always moved around China constantly and we have never really met or talked to each other for a long-enough period of time. My grandpa is a man of longevity, he lived for 84 years. Whenever I meet him, I am never receiving the feeling of connection of a relative with him, which is why I think this is such an interesting topic to talk about, as death feels like a horrifying topic, something that happens to people eventually, but is often used as a threat to scare people to obey to the orders of certain people. However, when it really happens, even when it is to one of your relatives, it still may feel like it is something that is so distant to us and that it is something that we can just ignore or not take into consideration of.
I know I sound very heartless, but I know that it is the connection of people that matters, and it is the sense of the collective purpose of life that matters, and not the matter of death that matters.
Sure, this is something that can be debated on, and I would love to hear your opinion on this topic as well. See you next time!
